RYA Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster™ theory is an advanced course that builds on the knowledge gained at the RYA Day Skipper Theory level.
This is a 6 day course that includes an assessment at the end. It is open to anyone, but is most likely to benefit those who have already completed their RYA Day Skipper Theory, and have some practical boating experience.
Designed for candidates wanting to take part in the Coastal Skipper practical course & Yachmaster Offshore exam. The course entails revision of the Day Skipper shorebased course. The RYA Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster Theory will also look at more advanced skills in offshore & coastal navigation by day & night, pilotage & meteorology.
The course will be based out of our RYA Training centre based at Haslar Marina.
Course Outcomes
- With this qualification combined with additional practical experience, you should be equipped with the knowledge required to consider the RYA Yachtmaster ™ Coastal or Yachtmaster ™ Offshore examination.
